I don't know where to start with this. It's one of those that I'm in love with. I'm very pleased with this painting. I've been working on it forever because after each step that I finished I was afraid to continue for fear of screwing it all up. In the end it all worked, to my surprise. Or at least I think that it did. It's kinda like solid proof that I'm improving my skills. Very satisfiying. Weeeee!
9"wx11.5"h Water color with micron marker detailing.
I have been coming back to look at this every day before I comment. I am astonished as to what the addition of the hazy orangy moon has done to complete it. The color variation in the trunk is great. The yellow grass has some depth and the sparse green blades are a good accent. I love the positions and placement along with marker grain on the wood posts. The tiny red flowers add some pizzaz without being distracting. Fun barbed wire! The background colors are beautiful. The composition is good... my eyes sweep around the image in a loop starting at the face, down the trunk, down the hill, along the fence, up to the moon and back to the top of the tree to start all over.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I like the name you gave to the tree too. lol. It bears a strong likeness to the original name holder.
The detail you put into the grass and flowers is awesome. So are the different shades on the tree trunk.
